NHS Lanarkshire Bowel Screening Programme
October 10th, 2009NHS Lanarkshire are currently running an awareness campaign and will be sending out self-testing kits to all 50-74 year olds (over 90% of people diagnosed with bowel cancer are in this age group). Bowel cancer is the 2nd biggest cancer killer among men and 3rd among women yet if caught soon enough there is a 90% survival rate. As part of the awareness programme there will be a meeting on Wednesday 25th November 2009 at 7pm in the village hall where Eddie Docherty of NHS Lanarkshire will be talking about the awareness programme, the benefits of participation and will also be available to answer any questions.
